Okay, got it all built. Really awesome how you can modify objects in real-time while playing the game! (Learning basics about world editor.) Not sure if there's a way to get to missions without having to start up the example program, but it would be nice. Next is learning scripting I guess, but it looks very similar to shell scripts like Python (personally my favorite scripting language!) so I don't think it'll be hard to learn. The hard part will be creating characters and objects. I can see myself struggling in Blender for HOURS with less than satisfactory results (not talented in that area). I'll have to check out some of these cheap kits with characters and objects in them. Not sure what kind of world I'll create to start learning things, but I imagine it'll look like a good mix of whatever free objects I can find on the web. ;)

TGEPython will allow you to use Python along-side TorqueScript.

easy to start with the cheap content packs, available on this site.
Not sure that you will to find some usefull objects for converting it into DTS, but one alternative (and much more usefull) option to join with the gamebeavers community. http://www.gamebeavers.org/
And hey, they are Torque releated. ;)
