Plan for Phil Carlisle

Yet another non-image based plan!!!! arrgh! I'll do an image one next week I promise! :)
This week has been truly insane, as we move into the final month or so of this semester and the students are all busy writing thier final year project papers.
On top of this, I've got some school-level liason work AND the final report of our BECTA funded research project.
We have been working on this project for a few months now, about how game developers engage and motivate players to play thier games.
The interviews we held and the subsequent findings will give us a lot more material to cover in the next year or so, writing follow-up papers and investigating the outcomes.
One thing that really strikes me, is that as developers, whilst we are getting better at "process" we still arent getting better at "evaluation". Evaluation should be a part of any quality enhancement process, because it is only be evaluation and comparison can we determine if changes we make are better or worse.
So the focus of a fair amount of my work for a while will be looking at methods of evaluating techniques we use as developers. We use these things mostly intuitively, but as educators, we cant rely on that.
So, next week... pictures of bombing raids and such! :)
