Plan for Gareth Fouche

Oh my, but it does seem like I've joined the GG community at the right time! So many awesome products being released, and so many on the horizon. Hot damn!

The latest of which is Chris Calefs Ragdoll animation pack, and its a beauty. This is so utterly perfectly timed for me. I've mentioned that my game involves magic and spells, I'll put up a proper .plan later, but a good portion of it involves hurling over-the top spells at your massed enemies. Hurling meteors, raining destruction, waves of force etc are a big part.

Take a look at the Ragdoll video, where he clicks and triggers an explosion, or the part where he rains blasts down on a troop of orks. Thats it exactly! And look how cool it looks!

I knew from playing Warhammer 40K just how much that kind of things added to the game, but since it would be difficult (if not impossible) to implement, it was on my "wishful thinking list". Now, not only is it possible, its super cheap and doesn't take up my limited time! He's even got a patch so I don't have to muck about putting it into the RTS-SK. Hooray!

*Does a little dance of joy*

Chris, I could hug you man. Its this kind of thing that makes this community great. Even though you're an indie, you've got this "virtual team" behind you.

If you're reading this Chris, does the script come with the "click to trigger explosion" script? It'll be trivial to implement, no doubt at all, but every little bit of time saved is fantastic. This is going straight into my prototype, so I would need to write that script anyway.

Also, if I could put in a request, get ragdoll animation going for a skeleton of a humanoid holding a melee weapon, say a sword (that could easily be replaced with axes, maces etc). This could go quite nicely in a fantasy game, as not all characters are going to be holding some gun-type weapon.

It comes with a click to trigger explosion script. Several of them in fact. It's the main demo feature. :)
