Youve gotta love the internet.
I'm sat downstairs in the 5th street market in Eugene, posting this on a freebie web access machine.
Oooh, well, yesterdays trip was pretty weird. Lemmie give you the rundown:
Ossett (where I live) -> Dewsbury (train station) 5 miles - 10 mins
Dewsbury -> Manchester Airport - 60 miles - 2 hours (including station time)
Manchester -> Philadelphia - ?? miles - 7 1/2 hours
Philadelphia 4 hours
Philadelphia -> San Fransisco - ?? miles - 5 hours
San Fransisco -> Eugene - ??? miles - 2 1/2 hours
So I got into eugene bang on midnight! :)
Gotta be like 20+ hours all in. Not a BAD journey per-se, but certainly not great.
So I'm wondering, all these flights and stuff seem to have gone off without a hitch, which is unusual for me. I'm going to portland over the weekend (all the hotels in eugene are booked out for the ducks game) which means I'll most likely go and meet Thomas "Man of ice" Lund at the airport. Going to try and find a nice hotel in portland, preferably with a swimming pool or something funky like that. That will be my task for tommorow. Today is mainly recover, eat, and go down the steelhead later tonight for a few beers :)

Thomas! I'll see you at the airport. I'm gonna find an internet cafe in portland and make sure my phone works. So mail me at the above email address and I'll reply with my telephone number etc when I know it (saturday hopefully).
Anyway,look forward to seeing you guys at the IGC or before. I'm gonna be having a goooood time!
Oh, by the way, hows this for a weird experience? You remember Airplane the movie? remember the start with the plane comingthrough the clouds and the jaws theme music playing? Well, it happened to me last night over San Fransisco! :) amazing low level cloud was over SF and there were a whole bunch of planes visible just popping out of the cloud. Amazingly weird experience.
Oh, and a nother little titbit.. guy next to me has tourettes :) hahahhaa.. serious..

BTW Phil.... San Francisco had been sunny and not a cloud in the sky for over a week ROFL You must have brought the clouds and cool weather with you.
