Plan for Paul Dana

The Bit Shifter Open Alpha (BOA) is underway and is so far a success. I'd like to thank everyone who participated in the first-go round. I got a lot of good feedback.

One comment that came through clearly was that the flight model was still not fun enough. A lot of people either had a tough time understanding why the ship moved the way it did, or they kept hitting the ground without meaning to, or both. After reading several comments of this nature I knew I had to stop and fix the flight model before continuing on making more maps.

Doing this, and starting up 20 hours / week of some new contract work has delayed the next installment of the Bit Shifter Open Alpha, which should be ready by Sun, 22-May-2004.

If anyone would like to check out the new flight model they can download 0.17404. This shows the new flight model but the same 2 maps as the previous version. If you play this version ignore any attempts to have you answer a questinnaire. Since this is not an offical version there is no questionnaire for it.

Another comment we heard a lot of was "more bits!". We did plan to build the numuber of bits on each level, but the public has spoken! Map 2, Gateay, will be chagned to have 2 bits, and the new level, map 2, A2D, will have 3 bits.
