Wow its been an exciting few days.
After hearing that a fellow Aussie had won a big game contract to develop a Stargate game i was a bit excited and bummed at the same time.

For those unaware of my previous plans. Our team was developing a stargate game of our own using torque approximately a year or more ago. Using torque and having some fantastic artists the game was really moving ahead and looking great.
UNTIl the dreaded cease and desist . Looking back it was actually a blessing in disguise for we were able to break from the ideas and constraints of the show and create our own game, and thus illumina was born (www.illumina-game.com)
However the news did depress me a little . Knowing that MGM werent going to listen to us or help us when we were create a game , yet turn around and offer this sized deal to a relative unknown. I say unknown becuase the companies website doesnt seem to show much in the way of killer games e.t.c
Having said that he must have done something right to win such a contract and i appluad him for his efforts.
I decided to fire off an email to ben to offer my congradulations (especially cuase hes an aussie) :), and to my suprise it looks as though they are looking for developers.
So i just may send off my resume and maybe a small demo of what we had for stargate (luckily i kept all our art). Not being incredibly strong with gfx programming , i doubt i have much of a chance but its worth a shot :)
As for our other game illumina. There has been a bit of a downtime as programmers e.t.c finish off there school exams but come june we are hoping to ramp it back up.
In the meantime we are adding new weapons, alien models, touching up our art, making lods, new guis.
Just a teaser. Heres a new shot of our gui for guns using scopes.
Other guns will use the normal iron sights ,whereas scoped guns will use this new gui :)

Looks pretty good, Ian. If I may make one suggestion, the crosshairs for the scope are difficult to distinguish in dark conditions. If you're looking for ease of use, a fluorescent green would work in just about any environment. For a more realistic approach, try using a bright red. A few optics manufacturers like Burris and Leupold used either red dots and or red crosshairs in some of their scopes.
