FPS food fight game. it will be set in a school for the campaign part, but for regular gameplay u can decide from a school, resteraunt, outside family party, etc... the ideas for places to fight and weapons are limitless. weapons like soda(shake up and spray), pop rocks bombs, anything u can think of, such as a slingshot fitting anyhting such as mashed potatoes, applesauce, noodles....food fight shooter is a good topic for a game, i dont think anyone has used it yet... maybe u could even fit in spitball fight section...this idea is in the earliest possible stage a game could be in, without anything 2 help us, this game wouldnt be possible....

It is a great idea. The only prob is the incredible amount of resources it takes to make *any* sort of FPS...even a food fight. Just too much work for 98% of indies including me. I ended up settling on a *much* simpler game idea.

Ironically i wrote up a 56 page design document for Food Fight already. I'd be glad to share it. Email me at phdana@crimsongames.com.It is a great idea. My apologies; However, I don't claim to be the best communicator either.

Not my fault. You guys have all these college degrees for all this stuff and i'm only 14. What more do you want?

Dan: Ian does make a good point. A little time up front goes a long way with developer types. Many developers won't read past the first three words if your thoughts aren't presented professionaly. I think your idea has some merit. Hope to see more fleshing out of it in the future.

Ian: My apologies then. Perhaps I was hasty. I just hate to see may favorite community resort to flaming to get a point across and at the time, that's what I thought was going on. I think it's great to start thinking creatively at a young age. Since I was 8 i've been trying to design a game and here I am 6 years later still struggling but making progress.
Also I think games aimed at a younger audience are great... Things like Chain Reaction and Marble Blast are good to not only give kids a clean game to play but also teaching basic physics etc etc. So, you're game idea may be feasable for that audience with a nice bit of cell shading. =)

Dan: Yes, I'm very sorry to offend you... I often forget humor isn't understood when it's text-based ;) (i'm a VERY sarcastic person in real life...)I think it's great to start thinking creatively at a young age. You should feel validated by this...discouraged maybe...but validated. I suggest you keep thinking up great ideas...but try to think of one that is simple enough that you and a team of other relatively inexperienced people could pull it off.

Let me repeat my sentiment. This is A GREAT IDEA. I bothered to take the time to write a FIFTY SIX PAGE DESIGN DOCUMENT based around this idea...this is how good of an idea I thought it was when it occurred to me. A *total* winner. The only problem is that such a game would have the same resource requirements as any FPS game...and those are way beyond the means of an indie developer like me.You should feel validated by this...discouraged maybe...but validated. I suggest you keep thinking up great ideas...but try to think of one that is simple enough that you and a team of other relatively inexperienced people could pull it off.

Ian Wheat
1) finish the 5th grade and learn to spell
2) hooked on phonics?
3) read a few articles on writing and creative writing / game design
Hope you like my todo list...
Now seriously, I'm not usually part of the group here that flames but I'm giving you a joking warning here; don't expect any support unless you can express yourself properly. (Now, if you are not from an english-speaking country you have quite a bit of leway (sp?))
And as for your idea... I think it'd be amusing and fun for a few minutes but don't expect even 100 downloads on release day.
Anyhow, just save yourself some flames by learning to write/speak properly.
