Plan for Regina Janda

by Regina Janda · 11/17/2002 (9:53 pm) · 2 comments

I want to gain experience in game programming and everything that goes with it. I want to learn the insides of a game engine. I plan to do that by volunteering for one of the projects. I also want to try animation and web development. I want to first play the game and figure out how to operate it, then maybe write documentation for new people on how to use it and then go from there into some development tasks. I guess that means purchasing the game engine. oH well.

There are books that teach you everything about games and engines. You should start from there and then volunteer.

I dunno - most everyone else ends up just diggin' in, and figuring it out on the fly :-) Torque's a pretty good engine to work with - it's a solid start, very complete, and well... there's a lot o' people look and see how it's done, etc.

If ya get to the point that you've bought the engine, and are lookin' for a project ta' cut your teeth on, gimmie a holler Regina.
