Plan for Ron Yacketta

As many of you have heard, the alpha version of the TGE documentation is out. I hope it is well received, criticized and bashed around. Why you may ask? well the document is from my point of view, my vision etc. I want others to put their input into the document, I want it to be a true "community" document. The document should never be completed, instead it should grow with TGE; as new features are added to the TGE they should be added to the document as well.

I have set out to learn OpenGL, in hopes that one day I can use it to create a game of my own (even if it is only a Tetris/pong/what have you clone.) The experience is well worth it and cant hurt to learn it. I have just recently successfully completed two (intro to c++ and DirectInput) courses at GameInstitute and have signed up for another (3D game programming with OpenGl). I hope to have a more fundamental understanding of OpenGL by the end of the summer and hopefully have a demo game for show.

All that while I work 12 hours a day, coach soccer on Tuesday/Thursday and Saturdays. Anyone know where I can go to buy some extra free time?

Hmmm - with all that free time, you should get a hobby !

No way!

Are you taking the OpenGL course that starts next week?

I'm registered, but I haven't payed yet. It overlaps with finals, so I don't know if I can handle it with my classes just finishing up.

Hey Ron - when you get a line on where to purchase more 'Spare Time', could you post it as a Resource here on GG? A lot of us on here could use it (me personally I've got a day job, Midnight Ryder Technologies on the side, I'm helping to start up a new company that does weddings, and refurbishing my 1940's house. I'd spend serious cash on extra spare time ;-)

Great work on the TGE docs so far, Ron!

I took that course last summer. It was pretty good. The second half of the course was somewhat disappointing because the prof was never around, but overall, I really enjoyed it.

@Matt,
Yes the one starting on 6/3/02
@Yacine,
I am getting the same impression :( I have heard the same tail from several people. I have sent him two emails with no reply yet!
I hope this is not how it will be, they will be charging the card on 6/11. If can not establish any form of communication with the instructor I will ditch the class!!
