Action RPG starter kit

Hi all, since my last blog it was requested that characters are better with animations. After doing some research and development I got the hang of collada and I went ahead and got the soldier pack from GG which I recommend.

I like the soldier so much I want to make something with it, since the GG soldier is part of a fps starter kit I want to keep him as a starter kit asset, that is why I'm calling it a starter kit. I want to aim for a 3rd person action game, like DMC with rpg elements. Everything in this kit will be free.

Using the soldier I made his own custom animations with 2 weapons, a sword and a gun. He has up to three chain attacks with the third ending with a fire explosion. So I want to make this kit with mostly art assets like monsters and weapons with animations. I have a small video

What do you guys think? Is this something someone would use? I'm really enjoying the learning of scripting and object oriented programming. I want to buy The Universal AI Starter Kit but I think I'm going for Robert Fritzen's guide first.

Looks extremely choppy; can't tell if it's from the quality of the video or the quality of the animations. . .

It's both, this is just another dead end.

Hey keep up the work Jose, it takes time to get the player animations right. Also to help guide your video's... use something with more lush area... get some trees in there, it'll help you figure out rather it's the video recording software or your game that's being choppy...

I'd like to see what other work you have done, keep us posted! :) Also be sure to post your work on Torque3d.net so it gets the widest dissemination possible! Again, Good Stuff!

Thanks Justin, I made a better video. Sorry no trees yet.

I think I am going to make the player and the sword as one DTS so it will look way smoother and the sword will always be in his hands.
