Character - WIP Simple Box Man

by Surge · 04/01/2012 (1:56 pm) · 5 comments

I took a very long "Pause" from working with Torque, while GG went through
some big changes. I think it was good for me as I got to rethink my entire approach
to what it is I wanted to do when I got back into it.

Id say at least a year and a half went by, and only a month or so ago, I grabbed my copy
of 1.2. ....Ya Im happy. Great work guys.

I just want to show what Ive been working on. This was actually supposed to start out as
a "Simple Box Man". Just so I could prove to myself I could get a character into the game.
But, just like many of you around here, I could'nt stop working on it.

I am posting today because I am not going to put anymore work into this character, as it has
taught me so much, that I must now build a new character, and try to improve greatly on
the things I know I can do better.

So here it is my " Simple Box Man " approx 2500 poly's. 3ds Max 2012

What I would like to improve in the next one is how clean I can make the mesh, how the shoulder areas
work. I would also like to work on adding nice items belts, knives, holsters etc.

BTW this process made me really appreciate the Torque Soldier that comes with the Game Engine.
I think its an excellent character.

Looks awesome. Could be a good cyborg for cannon fodder. Maybe add some machine noises when walking and some other metallic noises.
