Features and Progress

* Integration to 3DAAK
* Character art and animation pipeline tests
* New environment art
* Working Health GUI
* Demo-Mode GUI
* New Work Space!

SCREEN SHOTS!

Right before the integration I brought in a new wheeled vehicle to test out the fun factor. Totally fun, and worked great in multiplayer with my support group (lovely wife). With the new camera and player system that the 3DAAK brings, I have discovered that while control is passed to the vehicles, the camera and player model are not. Makes for an interesting RC experience, but when unmounting full camera control is never regained. I had thought about leaving in a car level as a sort of easteregg, but now I fear they will be dropped completely. Time is not on my side, and unless the bug is found in a more necessary feature, I don't have time to squash it. Sad face.

Lots of new outdoor environment art this month, and I even made a video tutorial on how I make grass. Built this small camp set and solidified my decision to go all hand painted. Then just a few weeks later my wacom tablet draws its last stroke. One of life's lessons learned the hard way: when involved with toddlers, keep your good stuff up high.

Warning, graphic images to follow.

I think most parents give their kids soft toys to rive about rather than computer hardware ...

Just as a thought try see if there's a camera control object that you can set on dismount in player.cs.

Whoooo, what'a week! The lovely wife graciously allowed me to expand the projects budget with a formally declared "emergency expenditure" and I now have a medium Intous4! Naturally it is susceptible to periodic commandeering.

@Steve, she's had her own wireless mouse and keyboard since about the time she could crawl. For a while it kept her from re-writing code and duplicating the desktop, but she caught on long ago that my version makes the screen do some pretty awesome things when slammed just so. :P

I think you're dead-on with your camera control object assessment; that's exactly how 3DAAK is setup for controlling the camera. I'm going to work on figuring out how to transfer that object more gracefully this week. Have a great idea for a new weapon/tool that will need to either pull the camera away from the player, or at least change focus for a bit.

@GG, Spotlight, THANKS! :D
