November Update

Today, InstantAction informed employees that it will be winding down operations. While we are shutting down the InstantAction.com website and Instant Jam game, Torquepowered.com will continue to operate while InstantAction explores opportunities with potential buyers for Torque. We thank all of our past and current customers for their support.

I first bought TGE in 2004 and every upgrade since. Hell, I even went as far as to contribute to Blender's code base to improve its exports for T3D. Chris Robertson was such a huge help with understanding what T3D needed. (I have more uncommitted blender changes if anyone needs them). I have nothing but praise for the Torque Team. I am sticking with it for a long time to come yet :-)

Torque is anything but barebones. As if something else was used, i doubt it as it would beat the purpose but you bettsr e-mail the creator to be sure

@Christian - we have played around with a few different engines, however none are stellar, obviously we used TGB for a reason. We will probably go back to our roots of writing the core, and bringing in things that make sense like box2d and lua. We prototyped ideas with TGB and PTK 2d sometimes as well.

I was not a fan of the Instant Action transparent development process and their infrequent site and product updates. They are a good group of people, and a good team, and I personally think this has been a great growing process for them, but it is definitely time for something like this to happen.

@Trenton - We started with pre-beta on the original T2D. Used to be very active until they went quiet. When your community goes from almost completely open to almost completely closed its a real bummer and says something about the organization. I think IA forgot who the customer really is / was, a mistake made by most software companies.
