Today, InstantAction informed employees that it will be winding down operations. While we are shutting down the InstantAction.com website and Instant Jam game, Torquepowered.com will continue to operate while InstantAction explores opportunities with potential buyers for Torque. We thank all of our past and current customers for their support.

No matter what happens to torque, I am going to continue to use it. Even if we don't get any further releases of the engine, I think it was still worth it.

Just thought I'd put this out there. Been a Tourque member forever and still will be. I've never really posted on the site, but I check it every day. I'll continue to use both your 3d and 2d products until I break them. Long live Torque!

i have several torque products and that's what i'm sticking to.
got code access and can improve on what i have
but i really hope someone comes in and pick this up - it's a great product and can really go places with the right people managing it.

Personally, I hope someone buys the new T2D engine they were working on and finishes development (I was really looking forward to publishing to the web platform in particular). I like making 2D games and that was one game engine I was looking forward to.

Quote:There's a good chance we are going to be getting a lot of eyes on our site in the next week or two.
Did torque received any offers?

@Sudarshan - I'm unable to say. That's why I'm asking everyone to behave, be polite, be compassionate, be supportive, etc.

We will stick with T3D for both Age of Decadence and Dead State. The engine is very solid and we built a great foundation for our games in it.

Just a year and a half ago, I knew nothing about game dev, but with the goal of learning to use Torque, I learned to use both Maya and C++. It was just because of my goal of using Torque that I was able to stay encouraged enough to learn so much.

Hopefully you find a good buyer and you can continue your awesome work.

I read the Q & A so there is still a good chance to pick up a some add-ons the forest kit,and maybe the stryker :)and the Kaboom pack is great too. Wow buying under pressure is never fun.

Just a question... is at the moment all the bugs fixing and movements towards 1.1 final release on hold???

Anyway I will stick with T3D me too... at the moment the engine also in the beta 3 is very stable and no better engine for my needs.. and no one has a so valuable community in my opinion...

:-)

I hope you guys will find soon a buyer but I would eventually be ready to support a Torque foundation :-D

Giorgio,

the whole company is on hold along with the breath of a lot of excellent people laid off without any warning :(

Ciao,

Hey all...I know we're doing a lot of collective grumbling and complaining. But let's keep site of what we (all?) want. We want the product we all paid for to live on, improve, and become the tool we all know it can be.

We also would like for the guys at Torque to get their jobs back!

I will support whatever company or buyer comes in and takes over the products by continuing to be a paying customer of their engines.

Good Luck!

I also would support any company taking over Torque. I would just like them to give us at least one more solid version of T3D before expecting us to pay for future updates. Of course I hope that they would not charge any extra for more updates, but whatever the buyer decides to do, I will be happy enough as long as Torque survives.

was that a run-on sentence?
