torqueForest

torqueForest is a complete package for creating outdoor levels in Torque3D. I've been planning on working on this for a while - it will also be available for Unity3d - and now I finally got around to complete the final small steps. The pack(s) will be explained in two separate handbooks on environment design for both torque and unity available on Lulu.com, I am hoping, by the time Torque Final is released.

I've been following the progress of t3d silently and though I still keep TGE close to my heart, Torque3d seems to come together really nice. I noticed that is the only 'premium' indie game engines that has support for BSP (still) but not many use Constructor so by the next spring I am hoping to put together some of my work in Constructor in a small package - think of it as documentation with pretty pictures.

There's one thing that's not quite final in my torqueForest - the foliage shader. The default tree seems to use duplicated polygons for the parts where double sided material is needed and I wonder why (since there is a double sided material in there). I was hoping to see less of the fancy shaders and more of those really needed (like a good transparency shader for nature/foliage models).

In any case, check back here now and then, I will post more screens as I progress.

What a pleasant surprise, App. Nice to see you back here. That writeup was quite in medias res. :)

The pack looks great! Now, give us more details! And also about what you've been up to, of course.

Been quite a while. It's nice to see anything you make coming out for Torque. Will this also be compatible with TGEA?
