TGB and Vista

I wasn´t sure if i should post this in the blog or not, hope there isn't a problem with this.
As many of you may know, TGB currently has some problems regarding compatibility with Windows Vista.
These problems won´t go unnoticed in the QA departments of Casual Publishers.
Right now i´m unable to get my game on some Portals, simply because the game crashes in Vista, when the user locks the Operating System.
I have tried to fix the problem, and although i was able to hack the source to get a executable that won't crash in Vista, it seems this "solution" wasn't perfect, as the game is still being rejected in Portals because of the problem i stated above.
With this in mind, i was hoping to get someone on board to help me get a functional TGB that works 100% in Vista.
This help is not free, this will be a paid work.
Anyone interested, please contact me at brunomtc AT hotmail.com , so we can discuss rates.
Thank you,
Bruno

I'm sure Melv will take a look at this if there are any of these remaining issues in the next release.

I read one post in the forums that one problem could be attempting to save files inside the program files director (ex you installed to c:\program files\my game and try to save files in a subfolder there) which Vista blocks. They were suggesting putting files in My Documents could resolve this issue (no personal experience, sorry).

I haven't seen TGB problems on Vista. If you care to elaborate, I'd be willing to do some digging.`Patrick

I use TGB with Vist 64 bit and had some minor issues with the menu bar but that was resolved by turning Aero off. I haven't had any other issues. In the case mentioned above, it could possibly be a UAC issue.

Unfortunately turning off the Aero is not an option to Portals (in this case, BigFish Games). The game has to work without crashes, with Aero on, when the user locks Vista. TGB should recover, and it doesn´t, it makes a bad crash.
I don´t think i can wait for Melv to fix this, we have been waiting for this fix for years now, it can be years before anyone at GG look at this, and i need to put the game out as soon as possible.
So, if anyone is interested in my offer, someone that is a better coder than me, please contact me at the email i posted above.

I've tried to reproduce this issue, but it works fine on my systems. On Vista Home Premium 64-bit with SP1, and Aero ON, all of the games that are bundled with TGB run fine. Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete, then "Lock this computer", and then unlocking it, and everything is still running fine in both "windowed" mode and full screen mode.
Are there any other steps to reproduce this on stock TGB?

What computer specs does the portal report it Crashing with Vista. They should be able to give you the video card model memory and driver versions.
Until you start collecting info like that you may never know. i do not have a problem with TGB and I know from Gerald's posts he may be running the same Nvidia drivers as I am. Are you by chance using a ATI card or something?
I have been scrolling through all the forum topics on this, and all I see mentioned is Vista. Not the computer specs.
BTW.. Email on the way.
