2/19/09 IRC Hour

Greetings Community! Every 3rd Thursday of a month we have an IRC Hour for the community.

What It Is: IRC Hour is a chance for the community to have real-time talks with GarageGames employees and our site admin, David Montgomery-Blake. We will be using the GarageGames IRC channel hosted by MaxGaming OnLine.

Where Is It?:
Server: irc.maxgaming.net
Channel: #GarageGames

What It Isn't: Debugging other people's code, marathon one-on-one help sessions, soap-box rants, etc.

Tonight's Agenda:

InstantAction: Awesome Games and Updates
Torque 3D: Collada, Torque Launcher (toolbox?), General Discussion
TGEA 1.8.1 Release
Official Documentation

Topics Suggested By Community: TDN, iTGB, Donuts

We may not be able to cover everything, but I'm confident we can try to =)

To learn more about IRC Hour, provide suggestions, and get the transcripts, please go here: 2009 IRC Hour Discussion Thread.

Again, IRC Hour Starts at 5:00pm (PST). See ya there!

Oh sure, post the reminder after I already went home and got myself occupied with the Legendary Cars Pack in Burnout Paradise. *shakes fist*

Sorry there wasn't a bigger show of people, but thanks for having this hour for us anyway; shows you care about our feedback.

@Scott - David was being sarcastic. It was a mad house. Last night, the channel was the fullest and most active it has been in years. So popular that we are going to start having 2 a month.

Yeah it was pretty nuts in there. Even I showed up and I was hardcore IRCing from my Cellphone XP At least it proved my phone a worthwhile purchase(Although I now want a Palm Pre, DAMN YOU PALM!!)

Anyways, I think having 2 a month would be awesome. That way we can cover topics better.

By the way, my vote is still for Torque Toolbox

I wanted to be there. The problem was, my son's High School registration was at the same time and I didn't get home until after 9pm. I'll make one of these.

If there's going to be a couple of them a month could we please have one that's at a more social hour for those of us in the UK :) the current 5pm PST puts it around 2am here.

I missed the first 15 minutes....all this chat of 'ToolBoxes','Launchers'....what the Hoo-Ha?? Awaiting the minutes of the meeting to be posted!

While not being a 'EuroDude'... I agree with a more 'fair' time slot for the entire 'Community'.

Things do get a little 'squirrely' when you get past a 8 hr. time difference, however, syncing all the different zones across the planet.

Perhaps a USA/*Americas::Euro/Asia split? With the suggestion of two events per month?? Just a thought.

I have to agree with Andy. I'd like to join but it's impossible for me at this time.

The next two IRC Hours will be March 12th and March 19th.

I'm still in a bind about the actual time to host them. It is too late for some users, whereas others are unable to join during their work hours. Neither really affect me, so let's go ahead and start polling:

Below is a four hour window:

2:00pm PST
3:00pm PST
4:00pm PST
5:00pm PST

My appearance is guaranteed, but the later the event the more GG employees might be able to make it.

Survey time. Majority rules but flexibility is appreciated. Out of the above times, what is most feasible for you all.
