After your SSAO kit, I'm expecting this like a kid! The website has only a coming soon banner, and the images added here are not on your website. Please, have mercy, I'm curious as hell.

Very nice dust effects, it certainly givves that illusion of a desert dust bowl there.

nice work - i love the ledge grabbing! is the "grabbable" object setup in any specific way or does every dif automatically work?

Really nice. That's one of the most basic animations / ability in characters in today's FPS genre that is missing in TGE: crawling, claiming, swimming, and prone. Looks like a nice content pack. :)

Thanks for all the great comments! The "grabbable" objects are set up to work automatically on any dif object as long as certain criteria for the edge and surface above are met.

Wow looks very nice :D really stylistic character. The overall look reminds me on Shadow of the Colossus or ICO. Hope it will be this kind of game ^^

The pack is really awesome, it will be great if the grabbale stuff also works on dts objects.
Is it works on dts???

Yeah if you want it to, it should work for DTS too :)
We're purposefully ignoring anything except interiors at the moment since it's nice to have our DTS "decorations" non-grabable.

Is there a release date yet (for the starter kit)?

I have licensed the SSAO Kit from Ubiq Visuals, so I am excited about anything else they plan on releasing.

Thanks for all the great comments guys. We do have a copy of ICO and SOTC at work and we all love the game! It's amazing how much polishing goes into those games.

As far as our next product we can't really give a firm release date yet, but we're aiming to release sometime before the end of the year. We'll be sure to keep everyone posted and will be providing more screenshots soon. We strive to make quality products and hope we can provide game developers with a comprehensive set of tools to greatly enhance their game development and game design needs. Because of this, we really want to ensure our product is as good as it can be before we release it :)

Thanks again for all of the great feedback! Keep it coming because if a great idea is suggested and a handful of people agree, there's a good chance that we might be able to get it into the product.

Nice pics, have some questions though.
1) The first picture looks like a ladder? if so does it work with objects at 90 degrees?
2) Will the code required be included in a starter pack?
3) With DTS shapes is that something that will be optional?
4) If yes for them... where do I sign up ;)

Hello Jake,

Thanks for the interest. The responses to your questions are below:

1) Yes that is a ladder! The character is able to climb surfaces at any range of angles you want (for instance from 80 degrees, through 110 degrees). The character is also able to climb (and ledge-grab) around beveled corners.

2) Yes all the code required to do everything in the pictures will be included and you may tweak the code as you like to add or remove any functionality.

3) Yes, both DIF and DTS objects will be climbable and ledge-grabable.

4) Sounds great! Feel free to register on our website www.ubiqvisuals.com. We will be emailing out all of our registered members when this product goes on sale in the next few weeks.

I too have bought the SSAO pack from UbiqVisuals and IMHO it is one of the most valuable packs I have purchased to date, as it gives dramatic improvement to Torques vastly outdated lighting system, and therefore also IMHO, helps a long ways toward bringing Torque back up to a competitive level with todays gaming visuals. I would HIGHLY recommend that pack to anyone serious about their game looking good! With that being said, I cannot wait to see this starter kit in action and you can consider me already in line to swipe my card for it! (Also very excited about the depth of field shader pack they just released!)

Keep up the great work guys, you are helping to put Torque back on top visually!
