Interior Guide Pack update

Following the previous blog post were I said I was working on a warehouse and a hangar, I am posting today some hangar shots; Altough the hangar itself is very simple and the only dts shape in there are the windows (reused from the warehouse) I like the outcome; I am making some dirt decals right now and I will also add more beam structure stuff inside, those walls are a bit empty.
almost there in less than 3 hours with breaks and all that weekend stuff:

the old stencil shadow trick does it's job again :)

I tried to cover only the important steps in the small doc I am making for this; It's not my intention to guide each posible step / click / drag and move along the way. I assume you know that already. All I am sharing here is how to come up with something in a short time, with a straightforward pipeline and with tools at hand.

It looks fantastic btw! Probably due to the very good job texturing.

The shadows are bugging me... It seems like either the building's shadow should be larger or the window sun light should be closer to the left wall...It looks fantastic btw! Probably due to the very good job texturing.

The sun light comes from the left of the picture (default sun settings in a new mission) so you will only get sun light from the left side windows; add there some fake light rays and stock ember particles and you will get a really nice effect.
edit: oh i see what's bugging you - the shadow of the plane is perpendicular to the ground (as if the light comes from above); that is not consistent enough with the rest of the shadows - this case the shadow of the plane is exported with the plane, but it can be a separate decal - shifted and scaled a bit can give you more options, depening on the environment the plane is.

Ross - shadows are completely controlable for interiors - it really depends on the mission / environment; A combination of baked in lights for interiors and a strong/lite ambient color from the sun in the mission may give you vary results. It's good to see a real artist using an 'inferior' product and not complaining about it. Sure it has it's quirks, but it's amazing what a little creative thinking can do in the right hands.

Hey, just noticed you're an associate now. Is that because of the TGEA Bridge pack? And great looking stuff with Constructor, are these items for anything besides the Interior Guide?

I just noticed I am an associate as well : ) probably due to my latest activity not the bridge pack in particular.

the interior guide has 2 parts - a free documentation part, covering most of the common constructor documentation available on TDN as well, but with more examples for what each of the tools do plus a short Making of Hangar part and the support files, and that include 2 buildings (hangar/warehouse) with a couple of props and a lot of decals for the interiors.I just noticed I am an associate as well : ) probably due to my latest activity not the bridge pack in particular.
