Games Demystified: Portal

I primarily scoped it to the "flinging" technique that was employed in the game along with some pseudo rendering. I wanted to cover the rendering in more depth but that has been reserved for later.

Awesome! I see where you're going with this now in terms of the theme for the series. Can't wait to see the next one.

Great article! I'd like to check out the demo, but when I run it, as well as the Super Mario Galaxy demo, it spins out of control and acts like I'm constantly moving my mouse to the left even when I'm not touching the controls.

Usually that is caused by the calls to the joystick. If you download the Blitz3D demo and load up the source code you can comment out all the calls to "Joy" and see if that helps. Both demos work with mouse and keys as well as an Xbox360 pad. Other joysticks will yield varying results.
