Well, it's finally "complete'... hmmm, complete...
Let's put it this way, the model is not perfect (far from it) and it could stand a bit more work (what couldn't) but it's time to say "WHEN!". Carrying on with the 'Steampunk' theme, I created what I suppose is something like a Victorian Barracks with a industrial feel to it. As I research the theme, I'm beginning to see more opportunities for pushing the design and models closer to that 'alternate reality' but this will do for now.

The model in DTS, FBX and Maya format is available in a new section in the RTS TDN. Be warned, there are some problems with the model, for instance, I couldn't export an animated FBX file without crashing Maya. I suspect I made some errors in the construction of the model and I plan to revisit it a little later on. Still, feel free to play with it, modify it, etc and let me know (and the community) what you did :)

Lots of thanks to Novack for feedback and help, and as it so happens, is working on improving the RTS building code. Way to go pal! :)

So a little break from making buildings and on to creating a unit model. What do we need here... A Peon!
Yes, the World Domination Mod by Stephen Zepp and Co. could use an animated peon and one that fits the 'Steampunk' theme perhaps.

Here we have an 'Industrial Revolution' labourer if I ever saw one... well, having spent some of my youth in Northern England during the 60's, I've seen a few :D As you can see, the unit is modeled and just needs to be UVed, textured, rigged, animated and exported... not too overwhelming is it? Needless to say, this will take a bit of time since this will be another one of those learning experiences making this guy.

Until next time www.crowtrees.ca/temp/crowSig.jpg

Most awesomeness. I have been away for a while moving to Florida from Germany, buying a house, starting shift work, and no internet has left me away. Since this is my first time back I am loving all the developments I have been missing. Now time to go and read more since there is so much to catch up on.
