A client wanted some jungle bits doing, I always test my stuff before I hand it over so decided to build a scene. What you see is ONE tree model and ONE billboard texture and the magic that is replicator along with my usual environment fiddling. The framerate is very healty too :)
TGE rox :)
Guess the framerate and win a broken sandwich

That's the heart of my point. The rendering performance and quality of TGE is not very good (that's being polite). What I have noticed is that people tend to make up for that by overdoing it with polys, textures and effects. Even then the visual impact doesn't justify the performance loss. At the moment we're just talking about empty scenes, imaging what's going to happen when you add in some NPC's/AI and other game play elements.
I know talent when I see it and you have talent, plenty of it in fact. I think you would be dangerous with TGEA in your hands, Christ I'd even pay for a license to it for you just to see what you can come up with in an engine that comes closer to matching your abilities.

I get around 40FPS in the Stonghold demo with the same settings

Yeah the art vs performance battle in TGE is a tuff one, when you start throwing alot of nature at TGE it gets bogged down with the alpha sorting and frames drop. I do have TGEA and will be doing stuff with it in future, should be interesting :)
