New and Improved Illumina (Pics and Movies)

Wow alots been happening these last few months

- I Got Married YAY!
- Blake Lowry got married YAY!
- We had a closed Beta which found lots of little bugs ummm... YAY!

Since the beta a few new people have joined to help us polish. Most of our existing team have moved onto other projects so its just a select few helping out.

DRL + water

One of the biggest improvements since our beta is new GFX enhancements. Like other projects (Ninjas vs Pirates and Monster Island), Alex Scarborough has been working behind the scenes integrating his latest DRL enhancements. The results are fantastic, We now have options for bump mapping, refractive water as well as all the various DRL options.

Motion Blur

Another new addition to our build. Josh "TheForce" Moore has been adding Motion Blur, Flashbangs now really do disorient players and whenever you take damage you get a slight blur in your field of vision. Pics dont really do it justice so you need to watch the movies (See Below)

Other Behind the Scenes Stuff

JC Smith has been busy behind the scenes adding lots of little improvements from our beta. Our inventory is alot more efficient and easier to use and there are 2 fairly major additions we are adding to the core gameplay

-Armours : Armours work similar to other games, players can now choose to go with a light/medium or heavy armour setup. This doesnt affect the player model in anyway (dont have any artists for that), but it will effect your speed ,stamina and damage.

-Backpacks : Another new addition. We are going to be adding various backpacks to the game. Some will give the ability to cloak, others to reheal, restock ammo e.t.c

Anyway what good is a plan without pics and movies.

Pics

These showoff some of the updated DRL and bumpmapping

Movies

Each range from 2-6 meg. They showoff various ingame effects, DRL, bumpmapping, motion blur and more.

NOTE: the drl lighting is still being tweaked so it might not look quiet right on the movies.

We are still looking for coders, 3d artists and mappers to help fix some bugs and tweak some art here and there. Especially coders with torque bot experience :)

Look out for more really cool behind the scenes stuff in the coming weeks. Lots of cool new additions on the way.

F-in sweet Ian! Havent checked the vids yet though. BTW, its Blake Lowry, Lanier is just my middle name :P Got your email btw, I should be able to work on that stuff.

Edit: Just checked out the vids, looks great... I really need to update my build and play around with it :) I love how the DRL really spruces up the Meadow level I did! =D

Those screenshots and movies are awe-inspiring; I feel compelled to swear whenever I try to express the emotions it(Illumina) brings me.

I second Mincetro Deadalus Slayer's comment. [edited original post] Screw it, I'll end up starting a flame war. Good job on Illumina!

I don't have the lighting kit...but why does the sky brighten so much and wash everything out when you look quickly from the sky to the ground?
