Tom Bampton is a god.

So I've been freaking out thinking that I wouldn't be able to use the "Fractals" skin, or use Theora videos on any other skin because it looked like there was no way to make Theora video loop without some stuttering as it closed and reopened the file.
Tom Bampton managed to make Theora loop smoothly. Tom is also responsible for developing a patch that lets me asynchronously pre-load audio data for the next skin in advance of actually using it, allowing me to have skin transitions that don't cause the engine to pause, or have dozens of ms of latency.
Tom is my new god. I bow before his superior coding skills.

What powers of smiting do I get? If I dont get to smite people, I dont think I want to be a god ;-)

Awesome work Tim Aste, apparently you are getting a cult following on the GG boards! I hope Tim doesnt get mad at Jon for misspelling his name 4 times...

@Tom: I'm not sure this qualifies you as a "god" per se, but you have been granted the power to smite interns. Which is actually pretty useful, since they seem to be multiplying...

Muwahahha! I shall begin by smiting Eric!

I haven't been doing much multiplying lately.... but I'll let you off on addition.... which is almost just as good.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something. But who said anything about Tim Aste here? I noticed Tom Bampton's name several times, but no Tim. So.. can someone explain how he misspelled Tim's name and where that attack came from? Im just curious because I just don't get it.

Quote:Yeah Tom is pretty OK... it's a great point, so I wanted to give you a rating of 5, but I subtracted 1 point for each time you misspelled "Tim" (as in Tim Aste from Tim Aste's Content Packs). Tough luck, Pal. Next time run a spell check.

I prefer "Finite State Machine" myself. Except that Tom is infinite in his knowledge and understanding. Which would make him the deity of ISMs, not FSMs.-JF

Only because the FSM makes you believe he is... Thanx the FSM he gave Tom all those skilllz!

Any plans to release the theora looping fix?

Since I don't have it as a discrete patch separate from the Theora pause/unpause patch (which itself depends on the audio pause/unpause patch), I'll likely just release a patch that combines all three for the sake of simplicity.

Yep, although it's a *little* quirky.Since I don't have it as a discrete patch separate from the Theora pause/unpause patch (which itself depends on the audio pause/unpause patch), I'll likely just release a patch that combines all three for the sake of simplicity.
