Messing Around with Torque

by Pisal Setthawong · 04/13/2006 (2:09 am) · 3 comments

Hmm... The thing that I like about Torque is that it allows me to mess around with its core. Somehow I also found that the more I mess with it the easier it is to screw things up badly and hard to revert things. One of the things I learnt was that its great to have version control systems such as SubVersion or CVS even if I'm just working alone on the engine mod at this moment.

Hey, thats good news!
One thing I've noticed about you bud, you should be learning a bit more C++ and class based programming, theres alot of classes in torque, and your gonna need to know how to use them.

Yay for Shannon! (good news about the resource too, hopefully Shannons terrain code can help me with Newton)

@Luke Jones

Thanks for the comments! I've got some C++ experience, so I think I just need time to settle and figure the a new environment. Anyway I've just submitted a new resource about how to change the behavior of the default jump in Torque, should be up sometime, might be good if you could take a look sometime :)

Nice to know you. I'll be emailing you my msn contact. The one listed is more like a email front used to prevent spam, and a secondary contact point. Anyway, I've seem the Torque modified game at TAM2006 from CMDworks, some nice modifications. I'll keep in touch soon :)
