Today, InstantAction informed employees that it will be winding down operations. While we are shutting down the InstantAction.com website and Instant Jam game, Torquepowered.com will continue to operate while InstantAction explores opportunities with potential buyers for Torque. We thank all of our past and current customers for their support.

Best wishes to IA. Can't wait to see the cool stuff everyone else here is working on!

T3D will definitely evolve. With all the cool active plug-ins now like AFX. Maybe a quick rebuild of the engine source and clean out all the "un-need stuff"..take use of the new DOCUMENT support. I am sure it can go a long way in its tool-set.Best wishes to IA. Can't wait to see the cool stuff everyone else here is working on!

Nothing to say about this that has not been already said. I know what you guys are going through and I just hope this event is a blessing in disguise for everyone dependent on the success of the torque engine.

Challenge everything, and don’t forget to ask to the community what they think, need , want…
For the team I wish you all the best and good luck in the pursuit of new challenges.

This is a big opportunity to Torque reinvent himself, the community is there and is a big asset, probably the biggest asset of Torque.Challenge everything, and don’t forget to ask to the community what they think, need , want…
For the team I wish you all the best and good luck in the pursuit of new challenges.

Sometimes you just need to rip things apart to rebuild into bigger and better. Corporations are no different and no exception.
I have no fear that my license will survive and Torque will improve as planned when the dust settles.
Better days are coming! I am looking forward to the improvements.

I've seen many changes with Torque since I've joined up and most of those changes are for the better.Sometimes you just need to rip things apart to rebuild into bigger and better. Corporations are no different and no exception.

@scott Definitely agree Scott. I had a little panic after the first news. But I am also sure that things will be better.

Sad news. I hope everyone finds new work and I hope Torque survives. I thought when they went all corporate that this would happen but oh well... it might have happened sooner if they didn't. Who knows. I wish you all well in your projects and life in general. :D

IMO torque will get picked up, and will be better than before, thanks to everyone who made it great already.

I'm sticking with Torque. I was waiting for the final 1.1 to drop before continuing with my halted project, but i will start it up again with B3 for now. Unity and the rest can go shove it where the sun don't shine, bunch of vultures coming in for scraps. IMO torque will get picked up, and will be better than before, thanks to everyone who made it great already.

Good luck guys.

Hey guys, i have been a fan of torque and instantaction for quite some time, what you guys have done is great and you have revolutionised the indie game community in my opinion. You guys are great and i am sure you will bounce back, maybe not as a studio together, but in seperate companies, whatever you go on to do, I am sure it will be great.Good luck guys.

Apparently IA sold it recently, but I just read it posted in gamesindustry (dot)biz. Hi-Rez has the Global Agenda game.

This is very sad news. I hope the GG crew lands on their feet. I also hope the community and the engine development can find a new place to flourish again.

Any chance of a newsletter sign up to get information/updates on this situation? I'd like to know when a new buyer is announced. (It also might help the sale to show how much interest there is.)

@Christopher Ellis: Given the nature of the situation - i doubt it. Most (if not all) possible investors will want negotiations to be done privatly and will require no leacks of intel of any kind until (assuming an agreement is achieved) they make the anouncement themselfs in the way they see fit. Meanwhile we can only wait.

@Luis Rodrigues: I was speaking more in using the size of the sign up list as a selling point to show there's still a very large amount of interest in Torque. Also, not for information leaks, but things like when/if the Q&A is updated, for example.

i think the interest in torque is better shown by the activity here - new blogs about projects underway and such things - a list of newsletter sign ups isn't that meaningfull since these days some people will sign up to anything - besides i don't know just how much work they are beeing allowed to do - but a new newsletter would mean add one more - and they might not be allowed - remember someone said here that they even confiscated his MAC

The best way to get updates is just to make sure you have this thread set to notify. A newsletter isn't really feasible for us right now and any update on the situation would be posted here or as a new blog.
