Today, InstantAction informed employees that it will be winding down operations. While we are shutting down the InstantAction.com website and Instant Jam game, Torquepowered.com will continue to operate while InstantAction explores opportunities with potential buyers for Torque. We thank all of our past and current customers for their support.

@gamedev - What do you do now? Continue as normal until there is news otherwise. This is not the time to panic. If you check our blog section, you can see some of our strongest community members rallying and continuing their work. Torque isn't dead, we are just in limbo.

As a long-time Torque supporter/purchaser since Nov 2002 (silent supporter, but support nonetheless!) I have to say that I'm saddened by this news. I can't believe it's been 8 years now, my how time flies!

My biggest regret is not having the free time to do anything useful with TGE in all this time. Maybe it's time I fired it all back up, and realize how much I've forgotten! :)

Either way, good luck guys! I know it sucks now, but in the end the good guys will always find a place to land, no matter if it's with whoever takes this over, or someplace else!

@Gerald Fishel -- totally agree. Whomever buys Torque is going to benefit from the huge amount of modernization and development that IAC paid for, and they are going to get it cheap. That is why I think Torque is a much better buy now than it would have been a few years ago, regardless of what Unity and UDK have done. I remain cautiously optimistic that Torque will "land on its feet."

@eb... Yes I'm still working on the game. We decided to greatly expand the scope of the game and add Mac support as well (mega feature creep but it's all good), so the time table got pushed back by about 18 months, and we are now aiming for a release around Q3 of 2011. T3D has been so great to work with, I really hope it lives on.

If you select the max time frame back to all of 2010, Torquepowered.com has had the most traffic ever this year!

I want to wish everyone here the best of luck - You should be proud of the great engine that you have made available to the community at a very reasonable price. There has been great progress since I first came to Garage Games in 2005. Thanks for all of your hard work!

I know this was asked, but I didn't see an answer. Is there any chance that the South Pacific demo will be released? I don't think we'll get an official answer about South Pacific demo until the dust settles.

I don't regret making my Torque 2D Pro purchase with iTorque 2D earlier this year. And I look forward to tinkering with torque for the foreseeable future!
Best of luck to everyone on the team and I hope all of you land on your feet regardless of the future of torque powered.

There, it's tracked. We can't do anything about it right now, but when we resume normal operations we can tackle it. There.
