Today, InstantAction informed employees that it will be winding down operations. While we are shutting down the InstantAction.com website and Instant Jam game, Torquepowered.com will continue to operate while InstantAction explores opportunities with potential buyers for Torque. We thank all of our past and current customers for their support.

You may want to add a link in the main post to the QA as it is kinda in the middle of this thread wich has gotten massive to say the least

what the hell? What is going on here? it acts like it is eating the posts and then it dumps them all on the page like 5 minutes later. Shouldn't it have told me something about only posting once a minute?
From Mich: James, remain patient. We are aware of the website issues, but we are limited in our resources to resolve them.

As to the posting issues that you are seeing, I'm not sure. I haven't been posting in high-frequency on the blogs so I haven't noticed the dump mentality. Maybe it has been in there for a long time and now it is being seen with the reduced size limits since people are tying to continue their thoughts in rapid succession. I do not know about any of the web server changes, though, so I'm just speculating.

"Torquepowered.com will continue to operate while InstantAction explores opportunities with potential buyers for Torque. "
Does that just mean the website will stay up or that the company will continue to operate as normal?

So can you tell us...is anyone working at GG anymore? Is there a skeleton crew for the next several weeks until it sells or has everyone gone home until something comes up?"Torquepowered.com will continue to operate while InstantAction explores opportunities with potential buyers for Torque. "

I am still interested in making games. Are the engines still for sale? Is there a time frame I should buy with in?-Donavan

very interesting comment about the US Army using Torque.
Is there any possibility the US Army itself would want to buy Torque?

It's unlikely that a US DoD Agency or DoD contractor would purchase Torque and, if they did, it's even less probable that they would allow it to remain a commercial development tool.
But.
DoD Agencies and their supporting contractors could very well be an untapped revenue stream for a new owner. Desktop, console, and mobile Virtual Training and Serious Gaming is a rapidly expanding aspect of the US DoD industry.

yes, I also work with the military (USAF), and we are constantly using computer based training. torque would make an excellent development tool for DoD, especially with it's web integration.

I'm just starting to learn Torque 2D. Due to the current situation, I'm in a dilemma whether to start learning or wait. On other hand, the products are solid and eventually using the last and current versions should serve me well, but only in the short run cuz the products will then be left behind in technology. Any advice?

the military definitely wouldn't BUY torque, but they (and their contactors) would be wise to USE torque for training apps, simulations, etc.

Personally I think TorquePowered will be bought out by a military conspiracy as well, but thats just my thoughts on the matter..

I also wish the best for everyone on the staff, your talents will certainly guarantee a safe landing should the future of InstantAction lead in a different direction than your careers.
