A Two Week Running Start At InstantAction
by Donald "Yadot" Harris · 06/22/2010 (1:41 pm) · 21 comments
10 days of sales training, bizdev meetings, and the biggest gaming event of the year and I survived. Also we had to prepare for several meetings and another conference called GES. As you know two weeks ago I started with InstantAction as the Sales and Social Media Manager. Part of my role with InstantAction, the social media part, is to share with the community what exactly I am up to. This is my report!
GES. GES or Games Education Summit provided a conference for colleges that taught or are looking to teach game development. While at E3 and GES I did take some video and pictures to bring back, although the intention was to get them posted each night but there was just not enough time. We started the trip in Vegas and then drove to LA for some meetings and setup on Monday.
After the 4 hour car ride we stopped and had business meetings and then drove and started to setup a rather awesome booth at GES. Which you may find familiar looking.

At GES Michael Blenden and Mich Perry really commanded the presence of the floor. Eric and I were also helping field questions with several different school leaders as well. All in all GES was a great show where the team really made a great impact there.
Now onto E3, needless to say E3 is big and no matter how many times you hear this it's not enough. E3 was still bigger than I expected. I wont flood this post with millions of pics instead head here to see the shoots I took. You can also take a look at the video I shot for it and my 14 day visit to Vegas here.

I got to experience E3 as both a consumer and a businessman. So I could not do to much sightseeing as the number one reason for me being there was to develop and start new partnerships. I did however get to play a bit with the Sony Move and a game called Black Prophecy. New Vegas I am looking forward to as well, hence the fanboy shot above.
Also while I am writing this just wanted to thank everyone again for the warm greetings! And all the activity on twitter. Feel free to reach out to me on twitter @torquepowered or my personal account @tallgamer
Thanks for reading!!
Oh yeah.. just one more thing (Columbo style)
It's a secret to everyone!

Ah, so that's the mystical "upstairs filled with C&C games" I've heard about. I went looking for it here in Orlando, all I found were my Christmas decorations.

@Steve I see you found my personal flickr account :) Hey like I said it was my first time there I had to. Interesting note on this particular person. She works with G4 as an actor in some of the skits.

Donald, is anybody responding to the developer contact emails through the web site - I emailed well over three weeks ago and never heard anything? We'd love to know how we'd go about porting our games on to this platform :)Cheers

Scott, what contact e-mail are you talking about? I haven't seen any of your e-mails. Are you using the contact page? What drop down did you select?

I have a quick question about instant action.. What is it.. I know what it was supposed to be, but there is nothing there but 1 game, and the website hasnt been updated in a while.. I managed to find a guy at E3 that had a instant action badge on, I asked him when could games be ported to the instant action platform , and his answer was " I cant say"
