As many of you know by now Constructor has shipped!!!

Now I can finally turn my attention to other things (ok...I can turn my attention *after* the 1.0.1 patch ;)

One of the things I have on my mind and close to my heart is the charity walk that me and my wife are participating in this May.

The walk is called Great Strides and is the number one fundraising event for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Not many of you know it but my wife was born with Cystic Fibrosis which is a fatal genetic illness that primarily effects the lung and digestive system. It causes her to have frequent lung infections, poor absorption of food, and a myriad of other symptoms. She has been hospitalized a few times already and will be put back in more and more as her symptons progress. Eventually she will have to face a full lung transplant.

When she was born the average life expectancy of someone born with CF was 18 years. Largely through the efforts of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the money they raise for research, that life expectancy has climbed to 37 years and continues to get higher every year. The CFF is listed yearly among the top most efficient charities, with the vast majority of the money going straight into research.

If you would like to lend a hand please visit my wife's team page at www.cff.org/great_strides/talanalydaairfax. Any size donation would be hugely appreciated and if you are in the Eugene, OR area you are more than welcome to join us in our walk!

Thanks!

Matt greate work man keep it up ;)

but tell me is there any limitation in using COnstructor with 1.4.2?

thanks in advance

@Firas, there shouldn't be as long as the .dif legacy export module works.
And I suppose it does.
It was somewhat broken during the beta.

There is also the standard map2dif export.
Though some of the features in Constructor won't work with non TGE 1.5.1 versions.

I hadn't been testing it since the release, Easter as been time consuming.

Congrats on the succesful launch on constructor Matt. What an Epic voyage it has been but with the resulting toolset th eentire indie community is againput back on its heels as a magnicicently powerful resource is added to their already large arsenal.

Most importantly though I wanted to con congratulate your guys on where you are at in your fight against CF and I offer my thoughts prayers that things go succusfully in the future.

Its late and Im running on zero sleep (you wouldnt know what thats like right? ;) ) so sorry if my comments dont make sense. Hope you had a crazy happy Easter.

Cheers

I have never heard of that disease before. I feel for you two. I had been wondering what your hospital visits was for and I wish you guys all the happines and healthiness in the future!

Congratulations on all your work Matt. Constructor is a dream tool, and it has lived up to its expectations without any argument.

A close friend of mine in Boston had CF. I wish I could join in the walk, but since I'm strapped down in Orlando I'll be heading to your wife's team page now. You both show two of my favorite qualities found in decent people: hope and a fighting spirit =). Try to create some down time for yourself, and enjoy it together.

Congratulation on Constructor Matt, fantastic job!

My very best wishes for you and your wife.

I started getting involved in fundraising for childrens cancer research two years ago this past may with a 5k race and that turned into a snowball effect, now I do every fundraising race I possibly can.

What's that line from the movie "...what to do with the time that is given to us"?

Once you realize how precious life and the time we have with those we love is, even in the best of circumstances, its hard to take your eye off of that ball.

All the best for your wife, Matt! And Constructor rocks! :)
Can non-US residents donate, too? Since you have to select an US state and I guess it checks the zip against it?

You two could go as Kevin Smith and his wife for Halloween.

Best wishes with the walk and to your wife.
