That's right, feast your eyes on the brand new Torque X Builder!

Ok, so it's nothing new...

Here's the skinny: due to overwhelming confusion concerning Torque Game Builder X (TGBX) and what the heck it was, we decided to rename it to Torque X Builder (TXB). It's still got all the same functionality, but now it's got a more meaningful name, thus making oral recital of our tech product line 27% less likely to induce seizures.

One last time:
Torque X Builder is the level builder for Torque X, previously known as TGBX.

Whoa...

When is that platformer starter kit coming out. It seems to have been on the promised soon list for a long time now. GG is starting to get a reputation as a team of starters and lacking any finishers!

@Peter--this has been covered a couple of times, but it's timed for marketing purposes with the release of the Creators Club/Torque X 1.0 release date--which is controlled by Microsoft. Both the platform starter kit and Torque X 1.0 have been ready for quite some time.

As a matter of fact, the Platformer Kit, along with Torque X 1.0, has been done for several months now. We've been waiting on some pending details from Microsoft regarding the Creator's Club bundle deal for quite a while (specifically, a web API to verify Creator's Club members). Regardless, we plan to be releasing both within a week from today and I guess Creator's Club members will just have to wait for MS to hook everything up to get their free TXB licenses. It's a shame that our reputation is suffering, because we've had the release builds sitting around collecting dust for a long time.

It really sucks that MS wouldn't let people in certain counties sign for the Creator's Club membership.

I had to borrow my friends name and credit card in England to buy the membership.

I just hope people like me (in Thailand) could buy the bundle deal from garagegames instead of Xbox-Live.

Aun.

What really sucks is that this has been said like 10 times if you kept up to date on it Peter...

Yay! I love TGBX Builder Extreme for Torque!

Sweet Zombie Jesus! Too many cool engines.

Please stop. I want to play with shaders in TGEA right now.

@Aun:

Same here (South Africa), but I looked up a London code and voila, worked like a charm ;p

Is it compatible with TGB? Can I create levels in TXB and use them in TGB?

No. TGB has it's own editor. TGB and Torque X have very little to do with each other from the end user's perspective, except for a common "look and feel" in the editors.

very cool, i also like the hints at 3d i see sprinkled around... being new to the area, I'm glad to hear that GG has been writing it (rather than porting from TGE)
