Been a while since I blogged, I have been busy with various contracts more and more TGEA related work than anything. I don't know if you chaps have heard of Gnostaria but it should look the muts nuts when done :) Matt the Gnostaria Master Cheif kindly let me show some work in progress, nothing much really but damn TGEA certainly wakes up an environment when you put the candy on. Still a long way to go with the environment but the basic layout / terrain is pretty much done and I have the raw assets in place, block buildings, trees, rocks. The hard part is in the detailing and the harder part is in the is in the performance.

Go check out Gnostaria... http://www.gnostaria.com/

This is awsome with sound... http://www.empiresofgnostaria.com/

Note to the PA team, I will be back on it next month :)

any chance of a resource...

ghehhe, pretty neat
You really set the right mood.
The only thing that you are lacking is details like, a road going to each house, maybe a wooden dock thingy to tigh your boat to, road signs or house signs, fences for the back yards, i dont know, just summing up things ;)
but since this is a WiP, a lot of the candy needs to be done yet?

i really like the subtile bloom effect, a good mood setter ;)

The only thing bothering me is that the trees dont really blend in the scene.
For example, when you look at the last image, the grass and the trees are really different, like there is less light shining upon the trees
and also, i dont really like the way it goos into the ground, a lot of games have this but its not logic, trees go more like this in the ground

anyway, keep up the good work, im looking forward to an update

@ Barry the terrain is completely standard legacy, no special resource, just some TLC, hehe

@ Florian, yeah there is a way to go yet with the details. The trees need some adjusting but the trunk where it meets the ground will remain the same. I cant really afford to put polys there as the heavy repeating of the trees will stack up and knock the performance, game art is always a compromise.
