- Summary:
- I worked many odd jobs before landing a tech job doing layout and design which further lead me into systems and network administration. Most of the computers we used were Macintosh. The classic mac OS was good for work, but it wasn\\\\\\\'t until OSX that I truly started enjoying the Mac (I miss my terminal when its gone).
After 5 years I moved into another job that was less demanding in order to return to college. I am currently taking classes at The University of Phoenix Online aiming towards a bachelors in Information Technology. In my spare time I have in the past taken several development contracts, all in java, and tinkered around with various graphics technologies. I participated in the NETCAT 5.0 project as a beta tester for Netbeans 5.0.
My original goal in programming was to be a game developer in C++. After Borlands Kylix Studio disappointed me with cross platform development I decided it was time to make a change, and Java is where I landed. Kylix in linux had a serious performance problem, most likely due to its reliance on Delphi.
I have been playing guitar for almost 10 years now. Almost all of these years has been spent in a praise and worship band. I enjoy the dynamics of bringing together a song with all the instruments. I recently got into some midi programming and found this very enjoyable.
I have played video games for years. I started out with an atari 2600 with Jungle Hunt, Donkey Kong Jr, and Joust. It wasn\\\\\\\'t until the SNES that I found my favorite genre, the RPG. Some friend invited me over and introduced me to Final Fantasy 3 and Chrono Trigger, which are still among my favorite games. I also fell in love with the CRPG by being introduced to Wizardry 7 and the Realms of Arcania Trilogy.
