- Summary:
- I like to think I'm a packaged deal in games. Haha, maybe not, but it's good to be confident in your ability.
I'm in a band with my buddies, so I can make music, I can apply music, and I understand how the music in a game can make the mood, thus making or breaking the game.
Art is also something I've been involved with. Supposedly, I'm very right-brained (the side of the brain that does all the creative thinking) therefore game making is something I really enjoy and is something I think I could be good at. I've taken Art classes and I draw on my own a lot. Drawing is a great way to express your thoughts, and is crucial in the planning part of making a game. Without it, the graphics might be awful, or the level being made might give off the wrong vibe. I think a game has to flow if you want it to be good, so Art is important in a game.
Also, I have a lot of great ideas for games that I'd like to someday put to a good use. Now, I can't do everything myself, so I think it'd be cool to lead a team to achieve the goals I have set. I have experience with leadership being a Boy Scout, a National Honor Society member, and an athlete, so leading a game development team can't be too hard either.
When it comes to the Writing aspect, I'd like to think I have potential. I get very good grades in English and I've taken classes in Creative Writing. I have a lot of story ideas as well, so I think I could do the Writing for a game.
I have some experience with design of games, too. I've dabbled with programs my friends and I have found online such as Gamemaker 7, and I've made a variety of games ranging from adventures to overworld games to platformers. I understand how important each aspect of the game is, and I know how to get stuff done.
Finally, though I may be young, I think I could do well in a game development career. Programming isn't my strong point, but I'm a quick learner, (straight A's in school). I've always seen myself in a career expressing my thoughts and putting my ideas to use. I really like video games, and so I've been trying really hard to get involved and actually make something professional that could get me a paycheck. :) I hope that with this site I can maybe make some of my dreams come true.
